摘要: Background Acute cauda equina syndrome is an uncommon but significant neurologic presentation due to a variety of underlying diseases. Anatomical compression nerve roots, usually by lumbar disk hernia common cause in the general population, while inflammatory, neoplastic, and ischemic causes have also been recognized. Among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected patients with acquired syndrome, infectious are encountered more frequently, most prevalent which are: cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex 1/2, varicella zoster virus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis infections. Studies well-controlled HIV infection lacking. We describe such case HIV-infected patient, along brief review literature regarding syndrome’s diagnosis treatment individuals infection.
