摘要: Dual-energy CT enables improvement of material and possibly tissue separation when compared to regular CT. Philips Healthcare has been successfully operating a dual-layer detector system in modified Brilliance 64 scanner installed since 2005 Hadassah University Medical Center, Israel. The acquires single x-ray source data using two scintillation layers on top each other with which energy datasets are acquired simultaneously. results the reconstructions mapped into plane created from Hounsfield units (HU) upper-layer image versus HU lower-layer image. We find that different materials end up definable regions HU-plane, so can be performed. Application special correction reconstructed images achieves stability HU-plane despite beam-hardening effects this image-based dual describe capabilities algorithms such configuration conclude combination classification analysis is practical robust method may improve clinical applications, particular those involving Iodine-Calcium.
