摘要: Observing, understanding, modeling and managing human-Earth interaction requires interdisciplinary research, which in turn requires conceptualizations from different perspectives. Rcent decades have seen developments in ensemble approaches of various forms, involving multiple models, initial/boundary conditions, model parameters, scenarios, and modeling centers. Even with a single model, whether it is for the atmospheric component or the land component, multi-physics approaches have been employed to represent complex processes that are considered for each component. Studies have emerged to assess the strengths and limitations of multi-model approaches versus multi-physics approaches. This talk will use the Noah land surface model with multi-parameterization options (Noah-MP) as an example to highlight recent advancements in multi-physics related research. The noted advancements …
