摘要: Significance: Anthracene-centered 2-D crossconjugated polymers were synthesized by the Wittig–Horner cross-coupling reaction between a 2, 6-diarylenevinylene/9, 10-diaryleneethynylene motif (1) and 3, 6-or 2, 7-diformylcarbazoles. The peak two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-sections (d) in toluene solutions of P1 and P2 are 2360 and 1520 Gm per repeating unit, respectively. The higher d observed in P1 is attributed to the stronger electron-donating capability of 3, 6-carbazoles compared to 2, 7-carbazoles.Comment: Efficient TPA dyes are highly desirable in a wide range of applications, such as optical limiting, up-converted lasing and two-photo microscopy. The authors demonstrated that the TPA cross-sections can be enhanced when anthracene is used as the p-center unit in strongly coupled cross-conjugated systems.
