A Query Expansion Based on Sentence and Vector Integration Strategy Using Universal Gravitation

摘要: This paper proposes a novel vector integration strategy for query expansion based on sentences. The strategy utilizes the concept of universal gravitation in physical domain to integrate the vectors of sentences with the modified law of universal gravitation. Vectors generation here for query expansion is based on the improvement of the previous work we have done. The proposed integration strategy is analyzed by DUC09 test collection data. Overall evaluation results show that the proposed method has a better performance on information retrieval.
