摘要: Background: Governments worldwide have become increasingly cognizant of the occurrence of genetic discrimination (GD) across various industries. A flurry of legislative activity has ensued, as states have sought to establish regulations capable of curtailing GD. Despite these efforts, public concern about GD persists, suggesting that states are struggling to introduce genetic nondiscrimination (GND) policies that adequately address GD or allay related public anxiety. This Policy Delphi study aims to guide policymaking by identifying key elements of an optimal GND regime. Methods: We consulted 60 diverse experts from 20 jurisdictions around the world, to understand their views on effective GND and related policies (see table 1). In accordance with Delphi methods, three rounds of surveys were conducted over the course of 1.5 years. The investigators were able to identify areas of consensus and disagreement on the key elements of an optimal GND policy framework. Responses were coded on excel sheets and analyzed using both deductive (based on predetermined codes developed from our review of the literature) and inductive (integrating new themes as they emerged empirically from the data) reasoning. A total of 60 respondents participated in the first round, with 53 respondents and 43 respondents participating in the second and third rounds, respectively.
