3D Prestack preserved amplitude migration: application to a real dataset

摘要: An algorithm for 3D prestack depth migration is presented. It is based on quasi-newtonian ray+ Born inversion [Jin et al., 1992]. The maps for the traveltimes, amplitudes and other ray associated parameters are computed by wavefront construction with a uniform ray density criterion [Lucia et al., 1996]. In order to improve CPU efficiency and reduce RAM requirements, we use interpolations of these maps with respect to shooting points coordinates at the surface while the amplitude and phase of the migration operator are interpolated inside the target volume [Thierry and Lambark, 1995]. Finally we present an application to a 3D marine dataset (ca. 3 million traces).
