摘要: This article illustrates the various threats to conservation units in Brazil posed by public agents and some private sectors. Brazil has a large set of parks and reserves, but even so, recent bills at different levels of management in the country threaten to remove from the system of nature conservation units no less than 2.0 million hectares. Invariably, the reasons for such changes are based on the mistaken view that the conservation of biodiversity and the maintenance of its ecosystem services hinder the country's development.
