摘要: Decreased mortality in patients with Cerebral Palsy (CP) has led to increases in the adult population with CP in the United States. Seven PHIs were defined according to the areas identified: a) Birth prevalence of CP overall and by gestational age; b) Proportion of children per CP subtype and walking ability, Prevalence of severe CP (gross motor function level 3-5 or moderate to profound intellectual disability); c) Proportion who had at least one MRI of the brain and d) Prevalence of postneonatal CP. Regardless of CP subtype, individuals with CP had on average five or more comorbidities, and the most common neurological and mental and behavioral comorbidities were most likely co-causal, caused by the same injury to the immature brain that caused CP.
