摘要: Dear Editor, Micrographia is a neurological syndrome that causes a subject’s handwritten letters to become abnormally small as a result of smaller-than-normal letter strokes. 1 The leading causes of micrographia are Parkinson’s disease (PD), progressive supranuclear palsy, Huntington’s disease, and corticobasal degeneration; other Parkinson’s syndromes are not implicated. 1 Micrographia can also be caused by cerebral infarction and intracerebral hemorrhage, albeit rarely; the lesions are mainly located in the left hemisphere, including the basal ganglia, and the left hemisphere plays a dominant role in language processing. 1 There are two types of micrographia. The first type is characterized by a gradual decrease in letter size as writing progresses, and the second type is characterized by an abnormally small letter size from the beginning.
