摘要: Chestnut is a genus which is difficult to root by conventional means [12, 17, 18]. Under in vitro conditions it is necessary that the hormone IBA should be applied at a time when the rooting rate and the general health of the plantlet are so balanced as to maximize overall success after transfer it to soil [20]. Information on the transplanting and acclimatization is very scarce. Keys & Cech [7] report the difficulties found, Vieitez et al.[20] indicate only 35% of survival, and Mullins [9] refers to high mortality of juvenile material. This report describes the results obtained in a range of experiments on the rooting and acclimatization of chestnut by in vitro propagation.
