摘要: The reconstruction of phylogenies based on morphology, the ability to make hybrids, the analysis of pairing in hybrids, and examination of chromosome structure are all widely used and valuable methods for analysis of genomic relationships. Several of these techniques are discussed elsewhere in this volume (Chapters 2, 3, and 7-9). DNA-based techniques provide many new approaches to compare genomes of related species. Some of the early DNA-based investigations involved measurement of reassociation kinetics' or thermal denaturation profiles² of genomic DNA.
