摘要: Environmental injustices are not simply a result of exposure to pollution; rather environmental injustices are more often a product resulting from a history of long established practices. This dissertation contributes to environmental justice literature by addressing a central objective: to better understand environmental conflict over pollution hazards across Canada and at the very local level. This study couples semi-structured interviews (N= 22) with a content and discourse analysis of the mainstream and alternative Canadian news media to distinguish important discourses of environmental equity in and across Canada.
