摘要: Introduction: Teams are essential for organisational effectiveness [1]. Research on military teams has underscored the complementary nature of individual members to monitor, combine, and shift behaviours to support the attainment of common goals [2], with a common requisite for teams to perform under significant stress or adversity [3]. Nevertheless, there is a need for further understanding of the composition of teams to inform future assembly or development strategies to meet this requisite. One promising tool to assess the composition of teams is the Team Role Experiences and Orientation (TREO;[4]). This self-report measure captures the propensities of individuals for team roles across six dimensions (Organiser, Doer, Challenger, Innovator, Team Builder and Connector).Aims: Among a sample of Army personnel, we aimed to (1) examine the factor validity of the TREO,(2) assess test-retest reliability of the TREO across an 8-week training period, and (3) test the predictive validity of the TREO dimensions with regard to a team’s shared perception of their collective capability to resist or bounce back from adversity (ie, perceptions of team resilience). Methods: A total of 437 Army personnel (Mage= 24.05±4.61; 368 males, 12 females, 57 did not report sex) completed the TREO as part of a larger project on team resilience. A subsample of 178 individuals from 17 sections undergoing initial employment training also completed the TREO and perceptions of their section’s collective capability to resist or bounce back from adversity 8-weeks later. For aim 1, we performed a Bayesian factor analysis with moderately sized priors (M=. 50, σ²=. 02) on …
