Measuring alexithymia: reliability, validity, and prevalence

摘要: When Sifneos coined the term alexithymia in 1972, he touched off a wave of studies by psychosomatic researchers, particularly in psychiatry. However, because of the choice of publication outlets, this research has not been easily accessible to mainstream personality and clinical psychologists. Hence, despite its 20-year existence, we are treating alexithymia here as a relatively new construct.
