Dynamic Complexity Theory: Eclipsed by a Revolution

摘要: At the time, the historical trajectory seemed to be ripe for a process model of complexity. The evolution of work on cognitive complexity began with George Kelly and was elaborated via contributions from such names as Harvey, Hunt, Shroeder, Streufert, and Driver. In the 1970s, this line of thought culminated in integrative complexity theory as articulated by Peter Suedfeld and Phil Tetlock. Those researchers did address certain forms of fluctuations in complexity, but I felt that the dynamics had not been fully explored. I was also optimistic that these ideas had the potential for elaboration into a broader theory of personality.
