摘要: Human drivers of environmental degradation occur as a result of predictable errors and biases in decision making at the individual social, and institutional levels. A better understanding of these human drivers can help policy makers and managers pinpoint the causal forces of environmental degradation as well as implement more effective policies, plans, and management practices that limit degradation and conserve ecosystem services. This chapter briefly outlines select theories and concepts from social science at the individual, social, and institutional level and highlights how multidisciplinary social science perspectives can contribute to the creation of sustainable solutions to environmental problems.
