Innovative smart metering technology and its role in end-use measurement

摘要: There is increasing interest in the use of smart meters in water planning and management in Australia. Smart meters have been trialled in a number of Australian jurisdictions for a variety of purposes including end use studies and leak detection. This paper reviews the current functionality and implementation of smart metering technology to date. A framework for classifying different types and functions of smart meters is provided and the development of a new smart meter prototype capable of identifying water events at the end-use level is described.
