摘要: In recent years there has been a renewed focus on the importance of waste management and resource recovery in cities. This paper reports on the development and use of a waste exchange tool as part of a broader program of research designed to support learning for industrial ecology, particularly amongst small to medium enterprises. It is structured in six sections. The following section (2) gives an overview of previous waste exchange and industrial symbiosis initiatives and their roles in promoting industrial ecology. Building on this, section 3 provides an overview of the context for the research-namely the Duck River Catchment within the Auburn and Parramatta local government areas in Sydney.
