摘要: With the losses experienced by industry and the broader Australian community during the 2010-11 flooding and storm events, members of the public, governments, finance and insurance industries are putting greater focus on adequate preparation. Meeting the expectations of these stakeholders is an important part of maintaining social licence to operate, which gives mining and mineral professionals key roles in developing and implementing plans for extreme weather preparedness. Analysing the risks of extreme weather events and changes to local climatic conditions are an important part of risk analysis for an increasing number of operations.
