摘要: Mr. Johnson is the elementary physical education (PE) teacher at tiny New Dominion Elementary School in Jefferson County Public Schools. Over the years Mr. Johnson has had a handful of students with disabilities included in his general PE program. A special class with children with more significant disabilities has moved to Mr. Johnson’s school, and he does not have the knowledge or skills to work with these students. Fortunately, Jefferson County Public Schools has contracted with a special education cooperative that serves ten different rural school districts. This cooperative includes two adapted PE specialists who serve all ten school districts. Mrs. Sparrow (an adapted PE specialist assigned to New Dominion Elementary) will provide a mix of direct and consultative services.
