摘要: Insulin does move glucose against metabolic need through glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) transporters, but only in liver, muscle, and adipose tissue, and then only to drive glycogen and triglyceride production. Insulin works by suppressing an otherwise unchecked hepatic glucose production so as to match it to total body glucose consumption and thereby stabilise normal blood sugar levels. Insulininduced suppression of ketone production in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) appears intact.[...] ketoacidosis has, almost by definition, been confined to type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and has ruled out T2DM.
