摘要: [en] This report discusses the impacts of increased production of natural gas in Norway on the emission of carbon dioxide in Western Europe. The discussion is organized around a numerical simulation model of the energy markets in Western Europe. It is found that increasing the production of gas in Norway decreases the total short-term emission of carbon dioxide in Western Europe. If the increased quantity of gas is exported, the net emission is still reduced in the short term, but less than it would if the gas had been used for energy production. In the end, the impact on the environment depends critically on whether or not investments in nuclear energy can be made
