摘要: METHODSThis study was approved by the Institutional Review Boards at the University of North Carolina and the University of Pittsburgh. Participants with CF were enrolled at the two sites between November 2019 and March 2020. Pertinent inclusion criteria included: clinical diagnosis of CF, age≥ 12 years and intent to start ETI. Prior to initiating ETI, patients underwent olfactory testing with the University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test (UPSIT; Sensonics International, Haddon Heights, NJ). The UPSIT is a 40-item psychophysical olfactory test administered utilizing scratch and sniff odorants and forced multiple choice answer format. 6 Out of four possible choices, each correctly identified odorant confers one point.
