摘要: Rice straw (RS) is a lignocellulosic biomass generated in huge amounts as agricultural wastes, facing improper disposal issues that can severely deteriorate the environment. This is the first study investigating the integration of sustainability, bio-energy, economic feasibility, and zero-waste from RS, meeting the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The RS feedstock was employed to recover dual biogas and biochar using a combined hydrodynamic cavitation (HC), anaerobic digestion (AD), and pyrolysis scheme. The effect of HC on disrupting the three-dimensional matrix of cellulose-hemicellulose-lignin was evidenced via XRD, FTIR, TGA, and SEM characterizations. The optimum HC condition was NaOH = 0.5 M, S/L = 3%, and time = 60 min, giving xylan and lignin removal efficiencies of 47.69 ± 2.56 and 65.02 ± 3.30%, respectively.
