摘要: As a conventional utilization method for ethane, ethane cracking has been widely used so far to produce ethylene, a precursor for various polymers. However, coupled with increased production of ethane from shale gas and strong demand for hydrogen as a clean energy carrier, much attention has been directed to ethane steam reforming (ESR) recently [1]. In this study, techno-economic assessment of ESR in a membrane reactor was carried out to evaluate economic feasibility through profitability and probability analysis from economic key factors such as net present value, discounted payback period, present value ratio, and break-even point of H2 selling price.
