摘要: As a result of mining activities, the acid mine drainage(AMD) is an aqueous solutions characterized by the high acidity and high concentration of metals and it represents huge environment risks, in special, hydric impacts, as consequent of the solubilization and mobilization of heavy metals. The purpose of this paper is to propose a characterization study of the AMD in order to viabilize its treatment. The neutralization of the sample was made through the use of NaOH reaching pH 6 and the supernatant was evaluated through atomic absortion and ionic chromatography techniques to assess the removal of metals. The neutralization showed to be efficient to the removal of the following metals Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mn, Mg, Ni and Z from CS sample and for the removal of Al, Fe and Mn from SS 16 sample, which revealed removal rates higher than 70%.
