摘要: This strand of the research symposium will elaborate on the familiar concept of participation in AAC and provide a multi-dimensional conceptualization of the construct from the broader disability field with relevance to AAC practice and research. Specifically, the strand will focus on: 1) Overview of the concept of participation in ICF and in AAC including the Participation model by Beukelman and Mirenda (2005), 2) A multi-dimensional construct of participation and implications to AAC 3) Broader research in participation with tools to measure participation and utilization of these in AAC.
