Towards Sustainable Aviation: Implications for Practice

摘要: The time to act is now. Even in the recovery phase after COVID-19, the industry cannot afford to further postpone the transition to more sustainable operations. Immediate measures and long-term initiatives go hand in hand.The aviation industry should not see becoming more environmentally sustainable primarily as a cost factor, but as a strategic opportunity that is also financially viable in the future.Aviation stakeholders should be open to far-reaching change at an early stage, as this will happen sooner or later anyway. First-movers will have advantages over laggards.Ambitious and coordinated efforts are needed from all key players in the aviation system to drive the decarbonisation of aviation fast enough and far enough.
