Are Preference Scores Elicited with the Visual Analogue Scale Inappropriate for Calculating Qalys?

摘要: MS is a chronic neurological disease with diverse symptoms and variable disease progression. Despite there being disease modulabing agents, em-phasis remains on aiding individuals' adaptation to the effects of the disease on medical and social-psychological domains. The most effective current interventions address symptoms resulting from target organ damage and the symptoms' effects on function and quality-of-life. Variation among providers in the assessment and provision of care may result in suboptimal support of MS patients. We are now implementing MS. COMP, a multisite prograni of distributed centers of excellence for MS care at 5 Kaiser-Permanente facilities and a multi-specialty group practice to reduce inter-provider variability and increase adherence with evidence-based guidelines.
