摘要: Cockle Park Farm offer’s Newcastle University a unique asset, enabling research into energy sustainability in a commercial, rural environment; a ‘Science Farm’to complement Science City. Other universities, notably Loughborough, have rural energy research centres, however these tend to be idealised, rather than focussed on real world rural industries, such as farming.Under the auspices of the NIReS Energy Theme, this report describes the conclusions of a team drawn from across the SAgE facility, working together to develop a vision for energy research at Cockle Park Farm. Industrial partners have been engaged, including Northern Power Grid and the supplier of the existing Anaerobic Digester Facility, Marches Biogas.
