Presence of isoniazid in milk produced and sold in Campania and Calabria.

摘要: Although the treatment of cattle with isoniazid has been banned in Italy since 1968, recent studies have shown evidence of illegal use of the drug in northern Italy. A modified method of detecting isoniazid in milk is described. Using this method, isoniazid (0.21-10 ng/ml) was detected in 11 of 114 samples of raw milk sold in Campania and Calabria, but no isoniazid was found in any of 43 samples of fresh, pasteurized milk.
