Protocols for the assessment of forest management effects on insect biodiversity

摘要: Sustainable forest management is related to the conservation of productive, protective and socioeconomic features of forest ecosystems. In this respect, the preservation and the possible increase of their biodiversity is fundamental. The fulfilment of this goal requires the identification of the relationships existing between potential distribution of indicator species and the integrity of ecosystem processes (Lindenmayer et al. 2000). Among the objectives of the LIFE+ project ManFor CBD there is also the analysis of the effect of traditional and innovative forest management interventions on the invertebrate fauna.
