摘要: The aim of this study was to: (1) determine key environmental parameters influencing presence of toxigenic blooms dominated by Microcystis aeruginosa and microcystins (MCs); (2) determine MCs quantity and quality; and (3) verify the hypothesis that chlorophyll a together with semi-quantitative densitometrical analysis of mcyA gene can be used in order to detect the presence of cyanobacteria dominated by M. aeruginosa and the dynamic of their toxigenicity at an early stage in Jeziorsko Reservoir. Samples were collected from June until September 2008. Non-toxic cyanobacterial samples from urban Stefański Reservoir were used as a negative control for genetic analysis. All the physico-chemical and biological parameters exceeded threshold limits for the process of eutrophication.
