摘要: The nocturnal movements of the macrobenthic invertebrates of the Lafayette River, Norfolk, Virginia, USA, were studied. Between January 1980 and March 1981, 151 surface and bottom plankton tows were collected. Forty-four taxa of macrobenthic invertebrates were identified. Numerous species of amphipods, isopods, polychaetes and the bivalve Macoma balthica (L.) were collected. There was a net export of macrobenthic invertebrates of 1.08 X 109 individuals and 46.6 kg (dry weight) per day. On an annual basis this net export represented only 3.5% of the total individuals in the entire Lafayette River, but 39.7% of the standing crop.
