摘要: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is a worldwide public health problem. HCV prevalence had an estimated 2.8% increase over the last decade, with more than 185 million infections (3% of the world's population)[1]. The majority of patients is unable to clear the virus and develops viral persistence despite the ongoing innate and adaptive immune response [2-5]. In most acutely infected patients, HCV is able to escape the immune response and establish persistent infection which increases the risk of progressive liver fibrosis and HCC [6].
