Shape representation and automatic object extraction using mathematical morphology

摘要: Image segmentation, the process of extracting homogeneous regions from an image, forms a major part of many computer vision systems. Object shape analysis is an important facet of image segmentation. This thesis addresses object shape analysis. The following general problem is considered: given object shape information, construct a sequence of image processing operations to extract the given object from an image.
