摘要: The coumarin compounds are considered an important class of heterocyclic compounds which present a wide range of bioactivities. In particular, these biological activities make coumarin compounds more attractive and testing as novel therapeutic compounds. Novel series of hybrid molecules bearing coumarin and chromene moiety were synthesized. Their structures were confirmed by spectral IR, 1Н NMR, 13С NMR, MS analysis. Compounds were tested for anticonvulsant activity utilizing pentylenetetrazole-induced seizure (PTZ) and maximal electroshock seizure (MES) tests after ip injection at doses of 30, 100 and 300 mg/kg body weight in mice. Minimal neurotoxicity of the compounds was also assessed by rotarod test at the same dose levels.
