摘要: Due to the arrangement of the finger flexor tendons within the carpal tunnel, the tendons impose loads on each other and the median nerve, especially when the wrist is deviated (Keir et al., 1997). Histologically, evidence of friction and mechanical loads has been found in the synovium of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) wrists (Schuind et al., 1990). Increased adherence of the subsynovial connective tissue (SSCT) to the flexor tendons may decrease movement of the two structures, or increase dissociation from the tendon, predisposing the SSCT, tendon, and median nerve to further friction (Ettema et al. 2007).Studies have examined the motion of the median nerve using cadavers, and surgical methods (Erel et al., 2003; Nakamichi and Tachibana, 1995).
