摘要: This map of a zoned dolomite crystal (light) in a quartz matrix (dark) from the 3.4-billion-yearold Strelley Pool Formation in Western Australia was created using geographic image system (GIS) software. It combines a scanning electron microscope image, carbon (green ovals) and oxygen (larger blue to white ovals) isotope analysis from secondary ion mass spectrometry, and electron microprobe analysis of magnesium and iron oxides (small multicolored points). Point colors are assigned on the basis of measured values. Clicking on these ovals and points in QGIS would take a user to information on the specific analysis. The field of view is approximately 0.3
