摘要: We present our recent advances in the theory Plasmonic Parametric Resonances (PPR) in nanoparticles and extended structures supporting propagating modes. PPR originates from a temporal modulation of the dielectric properties of the medium adjacent to a metallic surface. The rich dynamics of these physical systems can lead an efficient energy injection into the surface plasmonic modes supported by the metallic regions. When the permittivity modulation is induced by a pump field exceeding a certain threshold intensity, such field undergoes a reverse saturable absorption process which suggests the viability of these effects for optical limiting applications.
