摘要: The globalization of markets, along with environmental concerns, has prompted several academic and private laboratories to undertake work on the development of innovative materials. Among these materials, we find “greener” and lighter materials, such as biocomposite materials, which are primarily made up of biopolymer matrices or biobased reinforcements (natural fibers) produced from renewable resources. To extend their use to some structural applications, it is important to predict their mechanical behavior before the production. However, the biocomposite final performance will depend on the choice of the matrix, the shaping, the interfacial adhesion, the fibers concentration, and aspect ratio, and above all on the fiber's orientation in the matrix.
