摘要: The availability of intense neutron beams has opened new fields for investigations in materials science. A number of Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) experiments on aluminum alloys are reviewed. They demonstrate that SANS is a powerful technique for the determination, in a nondestructive way, of many microstructural parameters of the inhomogeneities (precipitates, voids or bubbles) like the dimensions, the concentrations, the orientations and the size distributions. SANS gives also the possibility to follow" in-situ" the evolution of the inhomogeneities, using special sample environment.
