摘要: Punjab Naroya, a new red-skinned onion variety derived through mass selection of material collected from Maharashtra, produces an average yield of 50 000 kg/ha, 13 and 43% greater than Punjab Red Round and Punjab Selection, respectively. It produces medium to large bulbs which are globular with a tight neck. It produces 1100 kg/ha seed yield, which is 15 and 70% greater than Punjab Red Round and Punjab Selection, respectively. It is less susceptible to purple blotch [Alternaria porri] than Punjab Red Round and Punjab Selection, and is also attacked less by Thrips and Heliothis.
