摘要: The~ 1.1 Ga late Mesoproterozoic magmatism of the Southwestern Laurentia large igneous province (LIP) generated a series of diabase dikes and sills emplaced within sedimentary units and granitic and metamorphic basement rock throughout the southwest United States and northern Mexico. This LIP event remains enigmatic regarding the processes that generated the magmatism and any potential links to the contemporaneous magmatism of the mineralized Mid-Continent Rift LIP of North America. This study aims to further our knowledge of the petrogenesis of this LIP and the magmatic sulfide potential of this magmatic event. This presentation will provide new petrographic data on the LIP, including categorization of the primitive and evolved end-members encountered within the LIP.
