He states that a 'clean' energy future requires governments to: set legally binding targets for renewable energy for each sector (electricity, heating/cooling and transport); establish a reliable scheme to enable private investors to sell renewable energy to the grid and receive a financial discount on their energy bills; ensure that renewable energy has guaranteed and priority access to the grid; and shift their investment away from fossil fuels and nuclear power - starting by eliminating direct and indirect subsidies to these industries, which would save taxpayers' money.
