摘要: Enhancing the mechanical and corrosion properties of aluminum is in demand due to its lightweight and exceptional physical properties such as high strength-to-weight ratio. However, commercial aluminum alloys are developed with focus on enhancing the mechanical properties than corrosion performance. Precipitation hardening has been used as primary strengthening mechanisms, which leads to deterioration in corrosion performance due to micro-galvanic interaction between matric and precipitates. Therefore, researchers are moving towards non-conventional techniques to mitigate this limitation. High energy ball milling technique is reported to enhance the mechanical and corrosion performance to produce high strength and high corrosion-resistant aluminum alloys. The corrosion-resistant properties and high strength are attributed to the grain refinement and supersaturated solid solution. These promising …
