摘要: Fiber spinning process is an important industrial process for synthetic polymers. The study on the dynamics of the melt spinning process is quite important industrially as well as academically because it is closely related to reachability of final velocity and also its theoretical analysis involves the fundamental understanding of the nonlinear dynamics of the process. This study is an attempt to pay more attention to understand the viscoelastic effect in the non-isothermal melt spinning processes and investigate the reachability of the final velocity. The Maxwell-Oldroyd model is used to describe the rheology of the polymer, the fiber is made of. It has been found that the non-isothermal Maxwell-Oldroyd model has an upper bound for the final velocity. The upper bound value depends on the parameters such as the air velocity, the air temperature and characteristic relaxation time as well as the temperature profile of the process.
