摘要: BackgroundStudies investigating potential biomarkers that can distinguish individuals in the preclinical stage of AD from healthy older adults play a critical role in efforts towards early identification of AD risk. Amyloid (Aβ) burden is a key preclinical biomarker for AD, and studies of at-risk healthy adults have revealed that Aβ burden is related to functional activation changes. Another proposed biomarker is a non-linear trajectory of functional activation in the progression of AD, with evidence suggesting a peak and transition early in prodromal AD.
