摘要: MethodsIn the present study, we investigated the DR grading, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central retinal thickness (CRT) measured by optical coherence tomography (OCT), anthropometric and biochemical parameters, including HbA1c levels, in 193 patients with T2D who underwent bariatric surgery. Data were extracted retrospectively from the medical records at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi at the baseline, 12 and 24-months post-surgery and they were subsequently statistically analyzed by the SPSS software. We investigated the data separately for the left (OS) and right (OD) eyes.ResultsOur results demonstrated that HbA1c levels positively correlated with DR grade at 12 and 24-months post-surgery in diabetic patients who underwent bariatric surgery (OD: p= 0.037, 0.045; OS: p< 0.001, 0.001; respectively).
